BidLive is run by William Sweet, a sole proprietor. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- Account: your email, password (stored only as a secure hash by our database provider), display name and town.
- Listings and activity: listings, photos, bids, watchlist, orders, tracking numbers, and buyer protection claims.
- Shipping address: if you add one or enter one at checkout, so the seller can ship to you.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive a Stripe customer or account ID, the card brand and last four digits, and payment status. We never see or store full card numbers, bank account numbers or Social Security numbers. Sellers give identity and bank details directly to Stripe.
What others see
- Everyone can see your listings, your display name and your town on them.
- In auction bid feeds, bidders appear as first name and last initial.
- When you buy something, the seller sees your display name and, for shipped items, your shipping address. The buyer sees the seller's display name.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: show listings, take bids, charge winners, pay sellers, handle refunds and claims, prevent fraud, and answer support requests. We do not sell your information and we do not show third-party ads.
Who we share it with
- Stripe for payments, payouts, identity checks and fraud prevention (Stripe privacy policy).
- Supabase hosts our database, logins and photos. Netlify hosts the website.
- Law enforcement or others when the law requires it, or to protect users from fraud or harm.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your information while your account is open. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and payment rules require. To delete your account, email us and we will remove your profile, listings and photos, except records we must keep.
Cookies and storage
BidLive stores your login session in your browser so you stay signed in, and remembers on your device whether you turned the lobby music off. We do not use tracking cookies.
Children
BidLive is for adults 18 and older.
